One way bike hire for cycling the Canal Du Midi
Option 1
Our Delivery and Pickup Service
Cycling the Canal Du Midi one way is easiest with our in-house service. We deliver and pickup bikes anywhere along the Canal Du Midi, from Toulouse to Sète, for example Castelnaudary, Carcassonne, Narbonne, and Agde. We can also store your empty suitcases for you during your bike tour of the Canal Du Midi. These empty suitcases will be picked up at the same time as the bike delivery, and they will be returned to you at the same time as the bike pickup. No need to go back to your start point again just to pick up your empty suitcases! This is a service that only we provide, and it is free. Other companies use a third party contractor to drop off or pick up their bikes, but not your luggage. The suitcases do not even have to be empty really, we can also store excess luggage, which is especially handy for our clients that are travelling Europe for several weeks.
For one-way cycling along the Canal Du Midi check out our pickup and drop-off service on the bike hire page.

Option 2
You + Train + Bike = 1 Euro

Relax Bike Tours & Rentals is located 400 meters from the train station in Beziers. Taking the train directly from our shop allows you to cycle the Canal Du Midi one-way. A special program allows our customers to take the TER train and bike for only 1 euro per person. All destinations inside the Languedoc Roussillon department are available at this special discounted price. It is important to note that the SNCF (train company) is not really involved. Tickets are available only via the internet and in limited quantities.

The 1 euro tickets are only available on trains that normally are mostly empty. Thus rush hour trains will not be available for 1 euro. Tickets are available 3 weeks before departure date and sell out very fast.
Bikes travel free on the TER trains, with a maximum of 6 per train and first come first served basis. Thus arrive 20 minutes ahead of train departure.
Train + Bike in France
Relax Bike Tours is the first and only approved bicycle rental company in Béziers, since August 2012! To be approved by the SNCF, the French train company, requires the bicycle renter to comply with many strict quality measures.

We recommend taking the train on the first day of your trip for two reasons. First, the bike will be clean at the beginning of your trip. At the end of your trip, the bike might be very dirty or even muddy, which might pose a problem for train transport. Also, very important, trains go on strike from time to time. It is therefore better to plan taking the train on the first day. A sudden train strike will be much more frustrating if you are far away on the last day of your trip! It is much more relaxing to simply cycle into town on the last day.
When you purchase a regular ticket, your bicycle travels for free on most TER trains.
Bikes usually go in the back of the train, where there are hooks to hang your bike from. Intercity trains and TGV trains require a reservation and a small fee (usually about 10 euros) for bicycles. TGV trains, furthermore, require the bicycle to be stored in a plastic cover if there is no special bike wagon. For information about traveling with your bike by train, click here.
Buy train tickets for you and your bike using this new website! Unlike the SNCF website, this site allows you to book your bike at the same time as your seat. Good for Intercity and TGV trains.

We are located 400 meters from the train station!

We advise passengers to arrive on the platform 20 minutes before departure to find the right carriage and avoid the crowds.

Bikes can also be carried in a bike bag provided dimensions do not exceed 120x90cm. This counts as 1 piece of luggage.
When online and booking a seat on a train you need to check to see if there is a bicycle icon next to the train number. See image below for an example. When you hover the mouse pointer over the bicycle icon, it will give you more information. For example, "transport de vélo payant" (a fee is charged for carrying your bike) or "transport de vélo" (bike travels free).
