    5 cycling days,
    Castelnaudary to Marseillan

Starting in Castelnaudary, this tour passes through all the canal's greatest highlights. Spend a night in Carcassonne to visit its UNESCO World Heritage Cité, cycle through sunflower fields to Homps, and choose between the Roman city of Narbonne or the intimate towpath route through Mirepeisset. Finish in Marseillan, a charming harbour town on the Étang de Thau — gateway to the Mediterranean.

    Option 1: Via Narbonne

The classic route via Narbonne, taking in three canals and the canal's most iconic landscapes — from Carcassonne to the Mediterranean lagoon at Marseillan.

Arrive in Castelnaudary and explore the historic centre. Castelnaudary is the world capital of cassoulet — try it for dinner at one of the town's excellent traditional restaurants.
