About us
We are Timo and Isabella. We moved to Béziers in June of 2011.
Timo was born and raised in the south of the Netherlands. His family moved around during his youth and landed in Alabama, USA after two years in Spain and six months in New Zealand (where his great-great-grandfather built New Zealand's first hydroelectric power plant!). Isabella was born in Philadelphia to an Italian family and studied/lived in both Birmingham, Alabama (UAB) and Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Cranbrook Academy). Timo studied mathematics at the University of Montevallo (summa cum laude) and after that was a telecommunications engineer, while Isabella was a university professor and is a sculptor.
We met in 2004. After seven years, we decided to marry and to move to the south of France. We picked Béziers simply by opening the atlas. We love it here. We brought our trusty bicycles with us from America, and quickly discovered how easy and fun it is to ride them here. The Canal Du Midi also reminded Timo of the Netherlands.
